The opera “LICHT” by Karlheinz Stockhausen, one of the most important composers of the last century, has been considered impracticable until now. The Dutch National Opera, Holland Festival and The Royal Conservatoire decided for the first time ever to perform parts of the magnum opus of Stockhausen, an opera marathon covering seven weekdays (28 hours in total). Director Oeke Hoogendijk followed this process up to the historical world premiere at the Holland Festival and records in a unique way how these parties will implement this ambitious project.
